Texas State University Honours College will offer a course focusing on Harry Styles starting next spring. The course is titled “Harry Styles and the Cult of Celebrity: Identity, the Internet, and European Pop Culture”.
In the class, students will learn to understand the cultural and political development of the singer’s career as related to questions of gender and sexuality, race, class, nation and globalism, media, fashion, fan culture, internet culture, and consumerism.
This is only another course focusing on a modern celebrity. Previously, other universities have offered courses on Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Jay Z and Kanye West, and The Beatles.
