Indonesian racer Sean Gelael took part in the legendary racing event, the FIA World Endurance Championship 24 Hours of Le Mans. Sean, who became the first Indonesian racer to appear in the legendary 24-hour race, represented Jota. Sean raced alongside Stoffel Vandoorne and Briton Tom Blomqvist. Sean drove car number 28 and finished in second place for the LMP2 class race category.
The 24 hours of Le Mans race starts on Saturday (21/8/2021) at 15.00 local time. The start of the race began with heavy rain, which put him in the seventh position. The position did not last, Sean was thrown from the top 10. At the end of the race, Sean and his team could finish in second place. They finished the race with 363 laps and were just 0.727 seconds off the WRT team rider in the first place.
According to DetikOTO, the results of this race also made Sean and his team lead the LMP2 standings with special double points for Le Mans 24H. Sean, Stoffel, and Tom had 89 points, along with JOTA #28. They outperformed WRT #31 with 81 points. The following series WEC is a doubleheader -or two races in a week in a row- in Bahrain in October-November.
