Nike closed its head office for a week to help its workers recharged and relaxed. Nike realized that the pandemic teaches the importance of mental health issues in the workplace.
Matt Marrazzo, a senior manager of global marketing science at Nike, said in a LinkedIn post on August 27 that Nike’s headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, was powering down for a week. He added that he believed taking the time to rest was key to performing well and staying sane.
“Our senior leaders are all sending a clear message: Take the time to unwind, destress and spend time with your loved ones. Do not work.”, Marrazzo said in the CNBC’s article.
According to Forbes, Marrazzo also clarified, “It’s not just a ‘week off’ for the team. It’s an acknowledgment that we can prioritize mental health and still get work done.” Marrazzo called out to other companies to support their workers because it’s a good business and the right thing to do.
Is it possible for Indonesian companies to do this? hopefully so.
