To infinity and beyond, finally, Buzz Lightyear has its film that is set to be released on June 17, 2022. “Lightyear” film will introduce the real-life human astronaut whose adventures inspired the toy line in the “Toy Story” franchise.

In the trailer, we see the real Lightyear suit up for a space mission. Lightyear explores alien planets, learns about space travel from an instructional robot and, shows up in his iconic green-and-white space suit. He boards a spaceplane, with a ground control crew watching, as it takes off into the unknown cosmos.

However, “Lightyear” doesn’t follow the Toy Story’s origin plot and space-faring exploits of Tim Allen’s iconic character and voice. Instead, Captain America-Chris Evans is voicing Buzz Lightyear in Pixar’s upcoming film.
