The aging world is now demanding a fast and practical solution for the worsening global warming. Meanwhile, people’s way of life is hard to change. The automotive industry is now in the race to create innovations to keep people living their best life while being kinder to the planet we call home. Hyundai, as one of the biggest automotive industry players in Indonesia, have made efforts to introduce electric cars as a greener solution for people’s mobility.
To further spread the issue, Hyundai Motorstudio Senayan Park has held the first Master Talks with the grand theme of Clean Mobility in Indonesia. The talk took place on Friday, Sept. 2, 2022 at Hyundai Motorstudio Senayan Park. This inaugural Master Talks is the newest Hyundai brand’s experience program as a platform to discuss the latest issues on the clean mobility and sustainability effort embraced by the automotive industry .
Guided by moderator Lucy Wiryono accompanied by three inspiring speakers: Chief Operating Officer of PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia Makmur, Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2018 Vania Herlambang, and Founder of Indonesian Ocean Pride (IOP) Hamish Daud, the discussion covers the latest challenges in green transportation. The event presented insights about what the automotive industry can do to promote green technology.
Makmur, Chief Operating Officer PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia, said that to realize clean mobility and a sustainable lifestyle, synergies from many parties are needed, both locally and globally. In 2020, Hyundai introduced its electric vehicle lines, IONIQ Electric and KONA Electric, to start Hyundai’s journey of electrification in Indonesia. Earlier this year, Hyundai Motors Indonesia strengthened its commitment for electric vehicles by introducing IONIQ 5 which is the first pure electric car (Battery Electric Vehicle/BEV) to be mass-produced in Indonesia, centering at the Hyundai factory in Cikarang, West Java. The production is a breakthrough and a historic step in the country’s automotive industry, Makmur said. The innovation has provided various breakthroughs as a game-changer brand in the Indonesian automotive industry.
“Hyundai wants to take an active role to support clean mobility vision and a sustainable future by providing information and education to the public through Master Talks. We hope that Master Talks could raise more awareness on clean mobility and sustainable lifestyle, while also motivating them to take part in the action,” Makmur said.
In the Master Talks event, Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2018 Vania Herlambang also shared her opinion on how an innovative vehicle can be the best choice and a clean mobility solution in terms of performance and its impact on the environment and a sustainable lifestyle.
Meanwhile, Hamish Daud, the founder of Indonesian Ocean Pride (IOP) explained how his travelling hobby exposes him to the various ways of sustainable living. He said he was greatly helped by the presence of electric vehicles (EVs), which have started to emerge along with the rapid development of the EV ecosystem such as the spread of electric charging stations throughout Indonesia and other supporting facilities/infrastructure. Charging facilities for Hyundai cars are not only limited to SPKLU points provided by PLN, but also at many parking lots, Hyundai dealers, and public places across Indonesia.
Hyundai Motorstudio has collaborated with IOP to take the vision of clean mobility and sustainability even further by donating the IONIQ 5 unit to the marine conservation organisation. This generous donation is done in a bid to boost the two organisation’s eco-friendly campaign.
“I thank Hyundai for participating in the eco-friendly campaign that we are currently running. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that we can realise the concept of clean mobility and sustainable living that have positive values for the lives of Indonesian people in the future.” Hamish said.
Hyundai Motorstudio Senayan Park is the first Hyundai brand experience that focuses on green living and promotes eco-friendly vehicles. Hyundai Motorstudio Senayan Park welcomes visitors to experience innovative and sustainable future mobility, starting with the exhibition of the Prophecy Concept EV as well as an inspirational LED media wall that surrounds the entire space. Hyundai Motorstudio Senayan Park also has Kids Workshop, Mobility Workshop, and Drive Out sessions besides the Master Talks. The Motorstudio itself reflects the concept of clean mobility as eco-friendly materials are used throughout the interior.
