‘Emak-emak’ or a woman dispersed student demonstrations blocked Jalan Sultan Alauddin, Makassar, South Sulawesi.

At first, students from the Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam (HMI) held a demonstration criticizing President Jokowi’s seven years of leadership. They then blocked Jalan Sultan Alauddin by arresting two trucks and burning tires on Thursday afternoon (21/10).

The traffic was severely congested and disrupted the riders. Until then, a woman riding a motorcycle came and approached the students who were blocking the road. It happened when the time for Maghrib prayer had arrived.

“It’s time for prayer; continue the demonstration tomorrow,” said the woman quoted from CNN Indonesia.

The woman asked the students to disperse immediately because they had been blocking the road for more than five hours. The student tried to calm the woman who was engulfed in emotion. However, she still asked the students to disperse immediately. Finally, the students dispersed.
