Herry Wirawan, the teacher who raped 12 female students in Bandung was finally arrested and brought to court. The modus of Herry was to lure the victim's family by providing free education. The victim's family was tempted by the perpetrator's persuasion so that their child became a student at the perpetrator's Islamic boarding school.

The West Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) confirmed that there were 12 victims of rape perpetrated by the Islamic boarding school teacher, 4 of whom became pregnant. The case of the rape of 12 female students by Herry was tried at the Bandung District Court. Based on information by Detik.com, on Tuesday (7/12), the trial of the case has entered the examination of several witnesses. Herry’s malicious act of raping dozens of female students took place between 2016 and 2021.

Ridwan Kamil as the Governor of West Java said that the victims had received assistance and trauma healing from the Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, and Family Planning of West Java Province. He also hopes that the perpetrators will be severely punished.
