One of the presidential candidates of South Korea, Lee Jae-myung promises the state will pay for hair loss treatment for its citizens if he gets elected. On Friday (14/01), Lee said that he would expand the state's health insurance to include hair transplant treatment facilities.
According to Lee, many residents who experience hair loss problems face discrimination regardless of age and gender. Quoting from Lee's campaign video, Lee said that many people who deal with hair loss use ineffective hair loss remedies that tend to be dangerous. They do so to avoid expensive hair loss treatments.
A lot of those treatments are also excluded from insurance coverage. This phenomenon leads to his promise to facilitate health insurance by financing hair transplants for severe hair loss cases.
