Nadiem Makarim Began To Open Limited Face-to-Face Learning In Universities.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek), Nadiem Makarim, began to open limited face-to-face learning in universities starting in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. According to Circular Number 4 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Face-to-Face Learning for the Academic Year 2021/2022, The Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology asked universities to continue implementing health protocols and hybrid learning. Universities must also prioritize the health and safety of students, lecturers, education staff, and the community around the campus.

Before conducting limited face-to-face learning, universities must at least prepare several things, according to Kompas.com:

  1. Universities can carry out preparations for the implementation of face-to-face learning adjusted to the level of Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) according to the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs and report learning conditions to the local task force.
  2. Universities are ready to implement health protocols as regulated.
  3. Universities form a task force for handling Covid-19 to develop and implement standard health protocol procedures.
  4. Universities are only allowed to carry out curricular activities through learning, research, and community service.
  5. The Chancellor of the university issues learning guidelines, graduations, and other activities for the academic community and education staff in the higher education environment.
  6. Under parental/guardian permission for students participating in PTM.
