The surge in Tesla Inc's (TSLA.O) stock market value beyond $1 trillion on Monday (25/10) gave Elon Musk a double gain.
With Tesla's stock at a record high close of $1,024.86 or around Rp1.454.435.193.30, Musk's 23% stake in the newly minted trillion-dollar company is worth about $230 billion or around Rp3.264.056.500.000.000.50, according to Refinitiv. In addition, Musk is also a major shareholder and CEO of rocket maker SpaceX, a private company worth $100 billion or around Rp1.419.155.000.000.000.00 as of October, according to a CNBC report.
Forbes estimates that Musk is now richer than he's ever been and likely richer than any person, as he is now valued at $255.2 billion or Rp3.621.683.560.000.000.50. In comparison, Bloomberg's Billionaires Index is estimating $288.6 billion or Rp4.095.681.330.000.000.50. This comes after an estimated $25.6 billion increase in wealth since Friday (22/10) after Hertz announced plans to buy 100,000 electric vehicles from Tesla to use as rentals.
Musk's net worth is mainly due to his 21 percent stake in Tesla. He's already passed Amazon's Jeff Bezos to take place as the world's richest person this year.
