September 20, 2021

The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, dismissed a civil servant (PNS) named Tri Prasetyo Utomo, who worked as a staff at the West Jakarta (Jakbar) Administrative City Secretariat because he was legally proven to be corrupt.

Tri Prasetyo Utomo corrupted the funds for an orphanage foundation with a total corruption value of Rp370 million. The Panel of Judges of the Corruption Court decision at the Central Jakarta District Court No. 36/Pidsus TPK/2020/PN.Jkt.Pst ruled that he was sentenced to prison for one year four months and paid a fine of Rp50 million subsidiary three months in jail.

The dismissal of Tri Prasetyo Utomo was stated in the Governor's Decree no. 989 of 2021, which Governor Anies Baswedan signed on August 16, 2021. According to Detik.com, Tri Prasetyo has filed a lawsuit against the Jakarta State Administrative Court to revoke the decree on his dismissal.

However, the Head of the Legal Bureau of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretariat, Yayan Yuhanah, explained that Tri Prasetyo's lawsuit to revoke the decree on his dismissal as a civil servant had been dismissed. This is because it is considered not according to the procedure.
