11 Police Officers Arrested for Selling Methamphetamine to Drug Dealers.

Eleven police officers in North Sumatra were arrested for selling drugs to drug dealer.

“The Tanjungbalai State Prosecutor’s Office has received the delegation of the second phase of drug sales from the North Sumatra Police. In the second phase, 14 suspects were handed over, and 11 of them are members of the police stationed at Polairud and the Tanjungbalai Police Narcotics Unit,” said the Head of Intelligence for the Tanjungbalai District Attorney. , Dedi Saragih, to News.detik.com on Thursday (30/9).

According to CNNIndonesia.com, the case began on May 19, 2021. At that time, the Tanjungbalai Police secured a wooden ship in the Lunang River, Kepayang District. The boat was carrying tens of kilograms of methamphetamine. However, the two couriers carrying the illegal goods managed to escape. Then the police who secured the drug evidence agreed to sell the methamphetamine. The Head of the Narcotics Unit of the Tanjungbalai Police also approved the sale of methamphetamine. Of the total 76 kg of methamphetamine found, only 57 kilograms were reported. And another 19 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine were sold to shabu dealers.

For their actions, the suspects are charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) subsidiary Article 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of the RI Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, according to Kompas.tv.com.
